Our friends at Creative Assembly invited us to work on the announce trailer for their upcoming new release, Pharaoh - from the Total War Saga.
This led to developing a musical theme and over-seeing the audio for all of the following campaign deliverables.
Summary
More Detail
After an initial briefing call with Creative Assembly we created and presented several bespoke compositions to an early edit of the trailer. From here a single route was chosen and developed over a series of several feedback meetings. As the edit developed the music was further finessed and crafted until it was ready to be recorded with 40+ piece orchestra.
The score was carefully created with a theme in mind that could be carried across and adapted as a bespoke music suite for the other deliverables across the launch campaign. ELB also took care of the audio post-production; clean up, mixing, sound design, mastering & music editing for the campaign deliverables including trailers, dev diaries, showcases, gameplay, etc.
The announce trailer needed to be impactful and build hype around the launch of the new game. Brooding cinematic visuals were created by Goodbye Kansas with a narrative that represented the struggle against the collapse of ancient Egyptian civilisation, culminating in Ramesses III leading his army into battle.
The music needed to embody the drama, determination and scale of the story.
The Mission

The Result
With over 3.4 million views, the highest across all historical Total War trailers, the announce trailer was considered a milestone achievement.
The supporting content bolsters the strength of the launch with music and audio that is consistent throughout the campaign and to the highest standard.
